I have been with the ATCI for years and am proud to be part of it because this is a great team to work with.
I have been with the ATCI for years and am proud to be part of it because this is a great team to work with. All of the association members are businessmen who have own responsibilities to achieve; nevertheless, when the time comes for them to put their heads together to create a project that they believe will help elevate the advancement of the industry, they give it their best selflessly. And this fact keeps me excited when I get to work with the members, to see each ICT expert turning his or her knowledge and experiences into something that can greatly benefit the country . Last year, I was elected to the President of Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) which has played important roles in propelling the region's ICT to the forefront. I was confident to take the job because I knew I had a great team supporting me. The ATCI has been a very active member and has been participating in several projects of the ASOCIO over the years. And especially, last year, the ATCI also played the host to the most important event of the year of the ASOCIO,namely "ASOCIO 2002" . The event organized in Chiang Mai, gathered over 600 of ICT Ministers, senior government officials, and ICT business executive form 20 economies of the region and was attended by many key figures from the Thai Government such as the Prime Minister Deputy Prime Minister, and the ICT Minister. IT was a hung success and received much praise from the participants. The ATCI made Thai ICT industry proud by initiating and enforcing several projects such as "ICT City Model," "Connected Asia," and the inaugural "Regional IT Minister/ASOCIO Dialogue." The latter, especially has helped to promote regional collaboration, needed for the region's ICT growth, among economies. The event was greatly supported by the Thai Government and helped strengthen the partnership between the public and the private sectors of the industry.

The development of the ICT industry in this region cannot be possible without us "coming together." There are many projects on which the ATCI is working with the ASOCIO, such as the establishment of XML standard for the Travel Industry (with Singapore) and the joint program in professional certification supporting the Connected Asia initiative. This is an exciting and challenging time for us. We need us to come together and make the ICT industry move, or rather, sprint forward. And like I said, I am confident that it will do so soon... because we have a great team.
